Position Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of automotive
components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements,
and industry quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, identifying
defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspections of automotive parts, subassemblies, and
finished products.
Utilize precision measuring equipment including gauges, calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate
Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify product conformity.
Perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects, irregularities, and nonconforming conditions.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and inspection logs.
Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials and products through Nonconformance
Reports (NCRs).
Assist in determining appropriate disposition of defective products, including rework, use-as-is, or
scrap decisions.
Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities utilizing quality tools such as 8D, 5-
Why Analysis, and Fishbone Diagrams.
Monitor production processes and communicate quality concerns, defect trends, and recurring
issues to supervisors and quality engineers.
Perform audits of work-in-process to ensure compliance with control plans, work instructions, and
inspection checklists.
Maintain calibration records and ensure measuring equipment is properly calibrated and compliant
with ISO/IATF 16949 requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment and varying
temperatures.
