Shipping Team Member: Holiday Help with a Path to Assistant Manager
Since 1982, Caroline’s Cakes has baked Southern layer cakes by hand and shipped them to doorsteps across the country. The holidays are our busiest season, and we need dependable people on our shipping team to make sure every cake arrives on time and looking right.
We’re hiring for the holidays, and we’re also looking for our next leader. We’d rather promote someone who has learned our shipping operation from the inside than hire a manager from outside. If you show up, work hard and take ownership, a holiday job here can become a year-round role and grow into our Shipping Assistant Manager position.
What you’ll do:
– Work on our pick, pack and ship team, pulling the right items for each order and packing them carefully, including dry ice shipments
– Check every box for accuracy and presentation before it leaves the building
– Work together as a team to load our daily UPS trucks
– Keep warehouse and shipping supplies stocked, organized and ready, so we’re never caught short on a busy day
– Pitch in wherever the day needs you
Who we’re looking for:
– Reliable and on time, especially November through December
– Detail-oriented. Every box is someone’s gift.
– A team player who stays organized and calm when things get busy
– Able to stand for long stretches and lift up to 40 lbs
– No shipping experience needed. We’ll train you.
– Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a big plus
– Experience leading a team or running a warehouse or retail shift is a bonus

Strong performers this season will be considered for year-round positions. Team members who show leadership will be trained and promoted into our Shipping Assistant Manager role, helping run daily operations, train new team members and keep our busiest season running smoothly.

– Pay: Starting at $15/hour
– Schedule: Monday through Friday, plus some Saturdays
– Overtime available during peak weeks
