Summary: This employee is responsible for providing direct services to survivors of domestic abuse and their children in the shelter to ensure their day-to-day needs are met. Job Responsibilities:

Accurately enter data into a computer system in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

Ensures that the basic needs (food, clothing, etc.) of all clients of the shelter are met.
Assist with shelter donation inventory and organization.
Receives and processes helpline calls from survivors.
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision while applying established policies and procedures, using compassionate accountability.
Facilitates clients through intake, orientation, exit procedures and prepares necessary documentation for client records.
Consistently exemplifies agency and team protocols, maintains professional boundaries, utilizes trauma-informed approaches, and practices compassionate accountability when interacting with both staff and clients.
Engages in the development and maintenance of shelter forms, training materials, and group facilitation guides.
Display maturity, flexibility, and interpersonal skills that are necessary in a crisis-oriented environment.
Demonstrate empathy, communication, active listening, and de-escalation skills while maintaining healthy boundaries.
Demonstrates compassion and empathy while supporting clients experiencing a range of challenges, such as triggers, trauma symptoms, and various emotional, mental, or physical health concerns. This includes but is not limited to, active addiction, suicidal ideation, and mental health conditions.
Serves on the on-call rotation.
Displays competency in a range of skills including verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, utilizing computers and technology for basic communication and work tasks.
Demonstrates a proactive attitude, drive for self-improvement, ability to problem-solve effectively and willing to assist team-members when needed.
Conducts community living related meetings and groups with families in shelter.
Assist house management with household food and supplies.
Works with team-mates and clients, to ensure the household is a family-friendly, clean, peaceful and healing environment.
Attends meetings as required.
Enthusiastically supports and models the mission and vision of Safe Harbor to peers, clients, and the community.
Performs other or similar agency duties as assigned by supervisor and/or other agency management personnel. May be asked to work at other Safe Harbor shelter locations as needed.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., navigate stairs, and performing all tasks related to this position. Maturity, flexibility, and interpersonal skills necessary to work in a crisis-oriented, stressful environment is essential.
