Cesar Salas is a well-loved member of our HA Familia and the entire Greenville community. If you’ve ever walked down the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville on a Summer Sunday afternoon, you’ll more than likely bump into Cesar.
His passion for relationship & community building helps drive systemic change with the Hispanic Alliance. Born in Durango, Mexico, Cesar immigrated to the United States at the age of eight with his mother and sister, and as a DACA recipient, he empathizes with the struggles of the Hispanic community in South Carolina. This compassion for his fellow immigrants is the reason he joined the Hispanic Alliance as a volunteer in 2020. His servant heart instantly made an impact in the lives of many.
His past experiences in community building have been in a variety of capacities – everything from working retail to becoming a certified yoga instructor, and now, he teaches yoga in Spanish to the Greenville community. Cesar is an active advocate for inclusion, and he uses his strong interpersonal skills to find common ground with a diverse group of allies.
Next time you are on Main Street in Downtown Greenville, look for Cesar and say “Hello!” You’ll be greeted by a smile and huge hug!
