Compass of Carolina is known for it's work in family violence intervention and is seeking a professional counselor to facilitate Spanish speaking groups in the areas of Intimate Partner Violence. We offer groups for both victims and batterers of domestic violence, as well as youth second chance; and are preparing to start a group for youth who witness domestic violence. You will facilitate from a previously developed curriculum, however there will be opportunities for you to make recommendations for curriculua changes, as needed. Groups are offered weekly in person and via telehealth. Licensed clinicians will have the opportunity to provide EAP counseling to Spanish Speaking individuals. The individual must facilitate the group, as scheduled, ensure client paperwork is completed to include return of client homework, and submit facilitator documentation within 24 hours. Compass provides a roster of all participants.

2024 celebrates 105 years of Compass helping Upstate Citizens, founded as a girls home on Main Street, our leadership was at the forefront of many systems or nonprofits we now know.  Today, our core services are divided into three categories: mental health counseling, family violence intervention, and representative payee services to those with disabilities and unable to manage their financial benefits from Social Security or the Veteran’s Administration.

We provide individual child, adult and family trauma informed affirming therapy and accept insurance and/or EAP.  In addition, Compass facilitates weekly groups in the areas of anger management, adolescent second chance, victim to survivorship, batterer intervention and Veteran Resiliency.  Groups are in-person or telehealth, English and Spanish.

Job Requirements:

  • Facilitates groups as scheduled, prepared to start group at designated time
  • Individual client notes documentation
  • Utilize Compass Client Portal

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Able to work independently and submit client notes within 24 hours
  • Experienced in family violence intervention, to include intimate partner violence.
  • Those experienced working with adolescents may facilitate Second Chance or Victimization groups for Adolescents
  • Able to work in person or via tele-health
  • Good communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Computer skills, able to use data management/client portal

Job Requirements:

  • Facilitates groups as scheduled, utilizing a Compass approved curriculum.
  • Prepared to start group at designated time.
  • Individual client notes documentation
  • Utilize Compass Client Portal
  • Ability to do client treatment plan and/or assessments, as needed.

Method and Type of Supervision Required:

  •  Able to work independently.
  • Regularly scheduled consultation with Supervisor as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience or, bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in family violence services and/or adolescent counseling experience.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to details, responsiveness to supervision and adherence to professional ethics.

 

Preferred:

  • LISCW-CP, LMFT, or LPC
  • LAC certification
