You will be responsible for maintaining productive relationships and providing high quality technical assistance to awarded entities. You will be able to contribute to program development and assist award recipients to develop successful strategies to complete projects. Finally, you will work closely with awarded entities to ensure projects are compliant with program requirements and are completed by the required deadlines. Agency minimum qualifications*:
A bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, real estate development and management or a related field of study with a minimum of five (5) years of full time experience in administration of federal grants, housing subsidy programs, housing development, housing management, housing finance, the mortgage industry and/or other housing related field, three (3) years of full-time supervisory management experience, which may run concurrently with professional experience.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet the agency minimum requirements. (i.e. 1 year of education = 1 year of related experience).

Additional Requirements:

  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills to compose letters, technical program manuals, visual presentations, and other business-related correspondence that are professional in appearance and content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on team building, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in supervision of the department.
  • Must be very detail oriented and analytical with the ability to organize multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and process time sensitive materials in a fast-paced environment
  • Must interpret laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to grant and program management.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion to make sound decisions supported by facts.
  • Strong technical skills are necessary with proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to perform tasks in MS Excel, such as spreadsheet design/layout and calculations/formulas.
  • Assist with the creation of program materials, such as manuals, applications, forms, reports, training materials, and written policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department staff, coworkers, external partners, and customers with a wide range of grant experience.
  • Provide input and make recommendations for program enhancement.
  • Track progress of projects and notify management when intervention is necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide technical assistance to entities receiving funding through oral presentations conducted at workshops, technical assistance trainings, daily phone and email communications.
  • Assist with state and federal reporting requirements.
