Why We Exist
HAYP (Hispanic Alliance Young Philanthropists) is a community of emerging professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers dedicated to building meaningful connections while making a positive impact across the Upstate. Through networking events, leadership development, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement, HAYP creates spaces where relationships turn into opportunities and purpose turns into action.
HAYP is powered by the Hispanic Alliance, the largest convener of individuals, organizations, and institutions working together to empower Hispanic communities in South Carolina. For more than 15 years, the Hispanic Alliance has fostered collaboration and created lasting impact through its four pillars: Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Legal Access.
HAYP is designed for young professionals, generally between the ages of 21 and 40, who are looking to grow their network, develop as leaders, and give back to the community. If you’re outside that age range, we’d still love to stay connected—keep an eye out for opportunities to mentor, volunteer, and share your experience with the next generation of leaders.
HAYP was created to activate the next generation of leaders and advocates, providing a meaningful way to:
- Connect with like-minded professionals
- Support the Hispanic community
- Learn about systemic inequities and how to help
- Raise funds to support HA’s mission and programs
