WORK SCHEDULE:  Temporary/Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, varied work schedule

 

LOCATION:  South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Greenville, SC

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:  A high school diploma and experience in Student, Human or Social Service Programs.

 

PREFERRED:  Minimum plus two years of experience in a high school setting or a setting that involves high school age children.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITES: Applicant must be able to identify, develop, and implement programs and activities that will benefit the campus community. Must be able to hear, speak audibly, walk, and lift up to 50lbs.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must be able to work variable hours and shifts, including 2-3 weekends per month.

 

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Director of Residential Life/Assistant Directors Residential Life this position will provide immediate student services oversight and guidance in matters pertaining to health and safety, discipline, and personal-social problems. This includes assisting with nightly check-in of students.  Counsels, advises, and assists students to promote and support the whole child.  Implements intervention strategies, disciplinary measures, and support mechanisms. Serves as a liaison with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and the general public.  Ensures timely intervention to challenges as they arise.  Coordinates student activities and events.  Ensures in collaboration with campus partners, development and adherence to policies and procedures relating to safety, residence hall cleanliness, DHEC regulations, fire code regulations, student illness and injury, and student attendance. Performs other duties as required.
