POSITION: Cleaner
NATURE OF WORK An Employee in this class performs routine, manual work. The employee performs recurring tasks in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules. When problems arise, an employee in this class will refer them to a lead worker or supervisor. Errors will be revealed by inspection of work and are not likely to result in loss of time or resources. Supervision is direct with frequent inspections to assure completion of assignments in accordance with instructions and standards of cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional Duties may be assigned.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, mats and floors.
• Scrubs and disinfects rest room fixtures, wipe them down to remove water.
• Clean and sanitize rest rooms.
• Replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchens and other rooms.
• Empties trash cans and wastebaskets and other receptacles. • Lock and unlock door when done.
• Reports to supervisor any damages or needed repairs.
• Keep janitorial rooms, closets, shelves and work cart neat and clean.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• May have to lift up to 50 pounds (lbs) on a daily basis.
COMMUNITATIOIN SKILLS:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals consistent with the duties of this position.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff and the general public consistent with the duties of this position.
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists consistent with the duties of this position.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form consistent with the duties of this position.
OTHER SKILLS SND ABILITIES:
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
• Some knowledge of cleaning methods, and equipment.
• Some skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral or written directions.
• Successful work experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While [performing the duties’ of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk of hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee may have to lift up to 50 lbs daily.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee occasionally interacts with the public and staff.

Performance in this position will be evaluated regularly by the supervisor in accordance with Mop & Bucket, LLC. Policy.
Transportation:
Must have reliable way to work on a daily basis, via transit or other transportation.
