ABOUT US
ReCraft Creative Reuse Center (@recraftgvl) connects creative people with reusable materials. As a 501c3 nonprofit, our mission is to promote artistic expression, environmental education, and community resourcefulness through creative reuse.

In ReCraft’s shop at 2439 Laurens Rd in Greenville, creative materials are generously donated by businesses and households, sorted by our fluffle of amazing volunteers, and sold back to the public at highly accessible prices. Additionally, our programming provides hands-on opportunities for the community to develop creative and sustainable thinking.

Key Responsibilities
ENGAGE WITH GUESTS

  • Greet, orient, and assist guests (kids and adults!) in a friendly, positive manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service in store and at register
  • Support meaningful volunteer & event activities
  • Process point-of-sale payments accurately

KEEP SHOP RUNNING & MAGICAL

  • Price and stock merchandise, curating inspiring displays
  • Maintain working knowledge of merchandise
  • Maintain shop tidiness, cleanliness, and organization

COLLABORATE AS A TEAM

  • Work independently to balance multiple priorities
  • Learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment
  • Communicate honestly and collaborate effectively as a team

Wages & Benefits
● $15/hour during 90-day training period, increase to $16.50/hour after 90 days

REQUIREMENTS

  • REQUIRED: 1 year of customer-facing or retail work experience
  • PREFERRED: Deep product knowledge / personal experience in one or more material areas (arts & crafts, fabric, fiber, papercraft etc)
  • PREFERRED: Bilingual in Spanish and English

SKILLS

  • Friendly and outgoing attitude, in group and one-on-one settings
  • Team player and effective communicator
  • Counting, math, and cash handling
  • Technologically adept (Square POS, Google Workspace, PC, iPad)

Physical Requirements of ReCraft’s Work Environment
Current shift hours are 9:30 am – 6:30 pm, Wednesday – Saturday with a 1 hour paid lunch. Saturdays are required, which of those other days and how many are still to be determined.

● Ability to reliably be on time
● Ability to work 18-36 hours weekly, including Saturdays
● Ability to stand for long periods
● Ability to bend and crouch, lifting up to 25 pounds
● We encourage staff to be current with DHEC-recommended Covid & Flu vaccinations
