The SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC Housing) helps families across the state obtain affordable, safe housing. Our staff is passionate about creating solutions that truly make a difference in the lives of others! We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student to mentor in our Development Division. In this position, you will:

  • Research possible policy adjustments to better support the development of affordable housing.
  • Utilize ArcMap to improve policies based on varying data sets.
  • Assist in the creation of an Asset Management Group within the Development Division.
  • Compile coordinates for Development’s portfolio and work with ESRI to create an online interactive map for public use.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

This is a part-time, temporary position that provides an average of 20 hours per week. This position requires you to report in-person to our office in Lexington, South Carolina. Please note, we will strive to be flexible regarding pre-planned vacations or other obligations.

Regardless of whether this internship is in conjunction with coursework or independent of one, you will be compensated fairly. Pay rate is between $18.00 – $23.00 per hour depending on year of study.

A high school diploma; or an approved, acceptable equivalence. Must be a full or part-time student in an accredited university, college, or technical school. SC Housing does not provide internship opportunities to freshmen, must be a sophomore or above at time of internship. Must be in good standing and current on all student loan payments to meet State of South Carolina employment requirements.
