What will you do?

Under limited supervision you will perform support tasks related to the reservation, processing, review, approval/denial and purchase of mortgage loans by SC Housing in our Single-Family Homeownership Programs. In this role you will:

  • Complete prefunding review and audit of closed mortgage loan files delivered to SC Housing for purchase.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable program and insurer requirements.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance documentation is included and executed in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Validate final loan pricing prior to loan purchase, to include assessing fees for late delivery and documenting deficiencies and extensions.
  • Approve eligible loans for purchase.
  • Complete daily posting and updates to single-family mortgage program rates via the lender portal.
  • Provide direct support to the pricing desk by fulfilling initial, re-lock, extension and lock change requests.
  • Monitor the weekly purchase and monthly settlement gain on sale calculations of loans delivered to the agency by our lending partners.
  • Carry out all lock desk duties according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and reconcile production and allocation data weekly for reporting to management and external partners.
  • Monitor lender performance and communicate recommendations for process improvements and training.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes, monitoring and participating in available training for continued development.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A high school diploma and three (3) years of applicable experience in housing subsidy programs, mortgage banking, accounting, real estate or another related field.

*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet the agency minimum requirements. (i.e. 1 year of education = 1 year of related experience).

Must be able to lift and carry files, books, and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to perform filing, desk work, and operate general office equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged or intermittent periods of time while sharing, gathering, or presenting information to other staff members or external parties. The employee must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications:
