The SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC Housing) helps families across the state obtain affordable, safe housing. Our staff is passionate about creating solutions that truly make a difference in the lives of others! We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student to mentor in our Information Technology Division. In this position, you will provide:
· Basic Troubleshooting: Assist users with common issues, such as network connectivity problems, slow system performance, or application crashes, by following standard troubleshooting procedures without needing elevated permissions.
· Hardware Setup and Configuration: Help set up new desktops, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.), ensuring they are correctly connected and configured for use without requiring administrative privileges.
· Software Installation (Non-Admin): Install software that does not require admin rights, such as certain approved applications or user-specific tools, and ensure they are functioning correctly for end-users.
· Assistance with Printer Issues: Provide support for common printer issues, such as helping users connect to printers, clear print queues, or change default printer settings, without needing access to administrative settings.
· User Support and Training: Assist users with basic software usage, guide them through routine tasks (e.g., email setup, file organization), and offer general technical support, all without needing elevated access to their systems.
Regardless of whether this internship is in conjunction with coursework or independent of one, you will be compensated fairly. Pay rate is between $18.00 – $23.00 per hour depending on year of study. This position requires you to report in-person to our office in Lexington, South Carolina. Please note, we will strive to be flexible regarding pre-planned vacations or other obligations.
