Summary: This role involves direct supervision of repair and maintenance staff and structural oversight of the facilities, ensuring compliance with best practices set by governing bodies and grantors. The individual will coordinate work projects and provide supervision working with the Director of Shelter Operations. Additionally, the position requires engagement with vendors to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services. The role will be performed at each shelter location. This is a full time, salaried, exempt position eligible for full benefits.

Facility Maintenance and Vendor Management Responsibilities
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure that facilities are well-maintained and in optimal condition.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Manage inventory of essential items required for the shelter.
- Prepare and submit reports pertaining to repairs and shelter projects.
- Ensure all documentation related to facility maintenance is accurate and up to date, including work orders, quotes, and service agreements.
- Acquire and evaluate vendor quotes as necessary.
- Place orders for items required for repairs.
- Update facility guidelines and any relevant forms or documents pertaining to facility management.
- Maintain a comprehensive list of serial and model numbers for all appliances and equipment.
- Oversee work orders, ensuring proper documentation and inspection of items.
- Assign tasks to repair staff and aid during repairs.
- Communicate vendor appointment schedules and related information to staff.
- Ensure the maintenance of all equipment associated with the facility.
Shelter Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly safety inspections of shelters for capital budget considerations, and work orders.
- Oversee the annual inspections and ensure the completion of required documentation for all properties.
- Review freezer temperature logs weekly and replace forms as needed.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs, inspecting the shelter, outdoor areas, and storage spaces to identify and document any existing or potential concerns.
Donations Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of donated items.
- Maintain off-site storage of shelter supplies and tools
- Assist with transporting items needed from off-site or other shelter location as requested so we are sharing donations and making sure all locations have what they need
Budget Responsibilities
- Assist with capital budget (prioritized list of projects and cost).
- Oversee the budget for repairs and maintenance.
General
- Regularly engages in various agency meetings, including staff supervision meetings, management meetings and, agency trainings.
- Shows proficiency in both independent work and collaboration within a team setting.
- Displays competency in a range of skills including verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and utilizing computers and technology for basic communication and work tasks.
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude, drive for self-improvement, ability to problem-solve effectively and willing to assist team-members when needed.

- Available for on-call response to critical facility emergencies; otherwise, a work order will be submitted.
- Performs other or similar agency duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in residential facility management or supervision is preferred. Ability to perform minor fixes such as leaking pipes, wall repair, replacing outlets, and HVAC filter replacement. Applicants should be physically capable of carrying out all responsibilities associated with this role. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs unassisted as well as stand, bend, reach and squat as needed. Demonstrating maturity, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills is vital for success in this fast-paced and challenging environment. Ability to drive company vehicles, with a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
