Qualifications
- 18 years old at the time of hire
- HS Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- US Citizen
- No convictions or current charges for crimes carrying a sentence of more than one year or crimes of moral turpitude
- No state or federal student loans in default
- Ability to work day or night shifts
Responsibilities include
- Receiving and processing inmates into Custody
- Maintaining jail security
- Transporting inmates
- Supervising inmates so they comply with Detention Center rules, regulations, and procedures
- Ensuring the care and maintenance of the facility
- Patrolling jail to ensure security and order are maintained
- Other related tasks as required
Job Description
The Detention Center is located in award winning downtown Greenville and offers a great place to work, play and raise a family! Heroes work here and we are looking for energetic, people-friendly applicants with High School diploma or GED, 18 years of age or older. Our talented team of officers come from diverse previous professions offering a wide variety of experiences and knowledge. Within the first year you will have the opportunity to attend additional training to become a State Certified Detention Officer at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
