Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Admissions, the Pathway Program Manager facilitates and executes the School of Medicine Greenville’s (SOMGDEI pathway programs which are focused on recruiting, supporting, and engaging students who meet diversity dimensions* followed by the USC SOMG. Responsible for the programmatic life-cycle of DEI pathway programs, from researching and implementing new programs, transitioning applicants into the admissions process, and tracking career progress/development of participants in DEI pathways programs who enter a career in a healthcare career and/or healthcare training. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience with State Agency or University procedures and policies. • Prior experience with university administration • Prior experience with supporting preprofessional, graduate, and/or medical students • Prior experience with supporting students from diverse backgrounds • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook and database management • Prior experience developing and/or administrating grant-funded projects Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds • Ability to work well under pressure and manage concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions; strong analytical thinking skills • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other software or database management systems as required, Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software as required, and Microsoft Outlook. • Must use their discretion in organizing their work, and compiling confidential information and reports. Responsible decision-making, confidentiality, careful discretion, and unquestioned accountability are essential. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, professionalism, experience with supporting students from a diversity of backgrounds, and the ability to meet expected deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks and maintaining confidentiality are essential to successful performance. • Performs in an effective and cooperative manner as a member of a high-functioning team, and demonstrates self-awareness, professionalism, open/transparent communication, and emotional intelligence. • Must demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion with experience fostering an inclusive environment, engaging in ongoing professional development, and working as part of a learning community with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, educational background, languages spoken, socioeconomic status, different abilities, and geography, among others.
