Shannon Owen has over 20 years of experience in organizational and project planning and development. Her specialized skills and expertise come from experience in philanthropic community investment, strategic planning, facilitation, evaluation and outcome measurement, and community research.
Shannon has worked as an independent consultant with numerous nonprofit organizations involving community research, planning, evaluation, and development of strategic and operational plans. Her work has also entailed feasibility studies, community health needs assessment for local hospitals, board development, and focus group facilitation. In addition, she has trained agencies across the Upstate of South Carolina in outcome measurement, utilization of logic models, and outcome tracking.
Shannon has also worked as the Chief Operating Officer for the United Way of Anderson County, Interim Executive Director for the Greenville Literacy Association, and Interim Executive Director for Project Host. And a variety of clients such as AnMed Health, Sustaining Way, Meals on Wheels Greenville, Pendleton Community Center, Artisphere, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System and the Mary Sunshine House.
She is currently an adjunct professor at Clemson University teaching NonProfit Governance and Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Community Research and Engagement for the Masters of Public Administration Program.
Shannon is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Clemson University, with an undergraduate degree from Clemson in Public Health/Health Sciences and a Masters degree in Health Administration through MUSC and Clemson University joint degree.
