Camp Spearhead Summer Job
Position with: Camp Spearhead
Established in 1968, Camp Spearhead provides recreation for children and adults with disabilities. Each of the one-week sessions fill to capacity with 90 campers. The traditional summer camp experience offers opportunities for campers to nurture friendships, improve socialization skills, and provide respite for their families.
Positions Available (all positions require living on site)
All positions start at $307.60/week.
Lead Counselor: Must have worked at least one season with Camp Spearhead. Provides leadership, supervision and support to Cabin Counselors. (10 weeks May 15 - July 28)
Cabin Counselor: Provides supervision and care to campers. Acts as role model to campers teaching respect for other campers, counselors, property, etc. Encourages campers to participate in all activities. (9 weeks May 21 - July 28)
Food Service Staff: Responsible for preparation and serving of all meals during the camp season. Direct supervision provided by Food Service Manager. (13 weeks May 15 - Aug 11)
Lifeguard: Lifeguard certification and experience required. Responsible for carrying out aquatic and other program activities for campers. Other tasks include general maintenance and housekeeping duties as well as assisting Cabin Counselors with camper care. (13 weeks May 15 - Aug 11)
Activity Specialist: Work within an 8-member team to provide program activity planning, implementation, and leadership in day-to-day activities. Specific activity areas might include: Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Media, Adventure, Nature, Target Sports, Waterfront, Camp Life, and Sports & Fitness. Additionally, Activity Specialists work together to maintain the camp facility (i.e. cleaning of common areas, setup/cleanup of group activities, etc.) (13 weeks May 15 - Aug 11)
Medications Technician: Must be 21 or older. Provides healthcare support for campers. Primary responsibility is the administration of camper medications. (10 weeks May 15 - July 28)
Camper/Worker Program Supervisor: Supervise an 8- member team of campers in the Camper/Worker Program. Includes assigning Camper/Worker responsibilities, job coaching/teaching work skills, and coordination with the Food Service staff. (10 weeks May 15 - July 28)
